Expert Window Replacement in North Syracuse, NY: Adding a Bay Window to a 1960s Split-Level
A North Syracuse Queen Anne-style split-level received a dramatic window upgrade, including a new vinyl double-hung window and a projecting bay window with a new roofline. The updates improved insulation and natural light while giving the front of the home a major style boost.
Before-and-after image of the bedroom window in a North Syracuse home with and without the AC unit.

This North Syracuse home is a 1960s Queen Anne-style split-level, and one of the front bedroom windows had a window air conditioner mounted in it for years, which is never great for a window’s seal or frame. We replaced that unit with a new vinyl double-hung window, so the homeowner no longer needs a window AC to cool that room.

The bigger project was out front. The home’s original flat, three-lite living room window had failed glass and had lost most of its insulating value. We replaced it with a projecting bay window, complete with a new roofline above it, which added depth, natural light, and a real style upgrade to the front of the house. It’s a bigger job than a straight swap, but it’s one of the more dramatic transformations we’ve done in the neighborhood.
